Welcome to the United States Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School’s (USAJFKSWCS) Distance Learning Site. What you are about to enter is a new and innovative training environment especially designed for the Special Forces soldier of today and tomorrow. The professional soldier must learn and accept the tools of the profession that will carry the Special Operations Forces into the Force XXI concept.

USAJFKSWCS provides entry level and advanced training, education, material, organization, and leader development for U.S. Army Special Forces (SF), Civil Affairs (CA), and Psychological Operations (PSYOP) forces from the active, reserve and National Guard components of the United States Army Special Operations Command (USASOC). Carrying out this mission requires extensive travel and personnel dislocation to attend resident courses at Fort Bragg.

The education and training field has changed significantly as a result of advances in communications technology. A national effort is underway by both the private and public sectors to build and expand the information highways. These information highways provide the infrastructure to change the nature of the delivery means of education from the tradition classroom to a "virtual" classroom that is geographically distributed. These changes can be expected to accelerate rapidly in the coming years as our education systems experiment with and gain experience and creditability with the new methods involved in this form of educational delivery.

The distance learning approach to training will enhance the effectiveness of the existing training programs in USAJFKSWCS, will allow the individual soldier to advance at a more rapid and self controlled pace, and will reduce the costs associated with individual and group travel for academic and exercise training.
